Meet Your Facilitator – David McAdams

David is a registered Canadian Professional Human Resources (CPHR, Manitoba Chapter) and Construction Health and Safety Officer (CHO) who brings a specialization in workplace occupational health and safety training. David undertook his Human Resources post-secondary training through Loyalist College; occupational health and safety training through Algonquin College, and specialized certification in industrial and construction safety through ISHA.

Between 2016 to 2021, he worked as the Director of Human Resources for the Qikiqtani Inuit Association; Manager of Human Resources for Qikiqtaaluk Corporation (NU) and most recently as the Director of Human Resources for Haisla First Nation (BC).  

Through his over 30 years in private sector operations, labour force training and outsourcing, and Human Resources, he has conducted health and safety and CORE audits; workplace accident investigations including critical incidents; bullying and harassment complaints and investigations; responded to employer compliance orders and; designs and delivers training for indigenous and Northern pre-employment trainees and organizations.

David brings direct experience supporting competency skills development and mental health support services and counselling to mining and industry sector organizations, as well as First Nations and Inuit communities in British Columbia, Nunavut, Ontario and Quebec.

David is pleased to assist in the design and delivery of specific OH&S training to support indigenous and Northern clients through ilinniapaa.
