This course content includes the following topics:

  1. Understanding where to find the occupational health and safety legislation and/or regulations relating to the workplace for your province/territory or federal workplace
  2. Understanding the key roles and responsibilities of your employer, supervisor, and you as a worker for health and safety in the workplace
  3. Understanding what hazards there are in the workplace
  4. How to report a hazard to your employer for correction
  5. What oversight authority, where your employer may not be responding, for correction of a hazard

The course includes a quiz, a course evaluation and certificate of completion.

Course Description

There are hazards in every workplace and young and inexperienced workers are especially at risk.

Slips and falls, over exertion, falling objects, exposure to hazardous chemicals and materials all cause injuries to young workers. In this training, you will learn how to protect yourself and what your rights are to ensure you arrive home safe at the end of the workday.
