Course Description

In this course we explore the the socio-economic factors termed the social determinants of health.

Learn about the 14 social determinants of health identified by the World Health Organization, and how government policy and priority setting can create barriers or enable access to health outcomes.

We will also examine how indigenous political representative organizations, such as Tapiriit Kanatami examine social determinants of health within their peoples through strategic policy and leadership to improve overall wellness of Inuit in Canada.
