The purpose of this course is to introduce you to computer basics and practice your keyboarding (typing) skills. We will explore a lot of basic concepts and terms – you’ve probably used a lot of these items before but this will still be good review. Wherever possible, the course will use examples that apply to the real world.
Our focus in this course is for more recent versions of Windows – note that features will differ between other/older versions. We will not be focusing on Macintosh (Macs) in this program.
The course includes a course evaluation and certificate of completion.
For those new to the office environment, digital literacy and using a computer is a key Essential Skill in Canada’s workforce. In the workplace, the computer and its peripherals is a requirement to perform many of our basic job tasks: writing business correspondence; attending a meeting; taking training; to researching information on the Internet.
