Course Description

The Recruitment and Selection for Nunavut Human Resources Professionals course is specifically designed to provide human resources professionals in Nunavut’s public service organizations with the necessary knowledge and skills to effectively manage the recruitment and selection process.

This course will cover essential topics such as language of choice for interviewing, barrier-free hiring practices, Prior Learning Assessment and Recognition (PLARing) education and experience, and employment equity for Nunavut beneficiaries.

Participants will learn the best practices for attracting and selecting diverse and qualified candidates while ensuring fairness, equity, and compliance with legal and ethical standards.


The course outline provides a general structure for a 37.5-hour course on recruitment and selection for HR professionals in Nunavut’s public sector. The course will include video interaction with the instructor and participants to discuss content and include interactive activities, case studies, and group discussions throughout the course to facilitate practical application of recruitment and selection concepts and promote participant engagement.
