Course Content

This course content includes the following topics:

  1. Acquire knowledge of basic concepts related to infection control prevention
  2. Acquire knowledge of blood borne infections and hepatitis A
  3. Recognize the difference between reportable and non-reportable sexually transmitted infections
  4. Understand the difference between latent and active tuberculosis
  5. Be exposed to the principles of harm reduction with a focus on substance use

The course includes a quiz, a course evaluation and certificate of completion.

Course Description

For frontline workers, it is important to have a base knowledge of infection control and health promotion, particularly with regional and provincial/territorial information to best support our clients. In this course we focus on infection control prevention; blood borne diseases; STI’s and a focus on tuberculosis.
