This course content includes the following topics:

  1. Describe and define the role of resilience in mental wellness
  2. Learn the traits and contributing factors of a resilient person
  3. Recognize the signs of reduced resiliency
  4. Identify coping strategies and activities to strengthen resiliency

The course includes a quiz, a course evaluation and certificate of completion.

Course Description

Mental health encompasses far more than the mere absence of disorders.

A key dimension that supports positive mental wellness is resilience and one’s coping mechanisms.

This foundational course discusses the definition and process of resilience; the different types of resilience; the traits, qualities and characteristics of a resilient person; how to strengthen resiliency.

NOTE: This course is a prerequisite for the Group Facilitator development and Inuit resiliency courses.
