Course Description

In Canada, most fires happen when an open flame or heat source is left unattended. In Nunavut however, the leading cause of fires is incendiary.

A fire that was intentionally ignited where and when a fire should not be started is considered to be an incendiary fire (National Fire Protection Association, 2017).

One of the simplest ways to achieve this is to be prepared. The objective of this lesson is to prepare and familiarize you with what makes up a fire, and what you should do if you find yourself in a situation where the threat of fire is present.
