This course content includes the following topics:

  1. Learning the tools for screening and assessment
  2. Learning about the history and the need for culturally-relevant assessment and the competencies used for recovery programs
  3. Learning the Indigenous child development screening and assessment tools
  4. Learning about how, why, and when in reporting child abuse
  5. Learning how to use the AUDIT alcohol screening and assessment tool

The course includes an assignment, a course evaluation and certificate of completion.

Course Description

This course contains content that is Quebec-specific.

As a frontline worker or clinical staff your role may be to undertake screening, assessment and program or service referrals for a range of physical or mental wellness issues.

Key topics include a review of standard evidence-based criteria, tools and responses regarding low, medium or high risk scenarios.
